The short answer is yes!

The Pilates method of exercise is rooted in rehab. Joseph Pilates, a German immigrant with love of movement (including yoga and gymnastics), and a keen eye for incorrect movement patterns started his method of training called Contrology in 1920s in New York.

Originally available to dancers and professional athletes, it was later developed into a system of exercises with focus on restoring mind body connection through an intelligent and educated approach to physical fitness. The system is available to anyone from the person coming out of rehabilitation from an acute injury, a weekend warrior to the competitive athlete.
